TRAINS
Unfortunately, the Capital Connection Train to Otaki is not running during this period. You can take a Kapiti Line Train to Waikanae Station for the Pick-up service. This service will be available to book with your Festival registration. The trip from the Waikanae Train Station and the Festival Site takes approximately 16 minutes.

AIRPORT EXPRESS BUS

The airport and Wellington are connected by the Airport Express (AX). This bus service runs every 10 to 20 minutes between Wellington Airport and Wellington Station via the city centre (Wellington Central). The airport bus station is located a short distance from the terminal at the Transport Hub, it’s on the left as you walk outside. The Transport Hub at Wellington Airport is located under the multi-level car park building on Level 0. Travel time to Lambton Quay in the city centre of Wellington is 25 minutes. Tickets are relatively expensive, namely 11.00 NZD for adults and 5.50 NZD for children from 5 up to 18 years. Children 4 years and younger can travel for free. You can pay with cash or card on board the bus. For discounted fares, use a Snapper card (8.76 NZD / 4.38 NZD). Airport Express uses electric buses. METLINK BUS
You can take public transport from the airport to the city centre at a lower cost. However, for this you will have to walk 10 minutes to the bus stop ‘Hobart Street at Broadway’. Here you can catch bus 2 or bus 30X in the direction of Wellington. Route 2 Karori – Wellington – Hataitai – Miramar/Seatoun is a regular bus service, Route 30X Scorching Bay/Moa Point – Wellington is an express bus service. The journey time to ‘Lambton Quay at Cable Car Lane’ in Wellington city centre is 32 minutes. You will need a ticket for 3 zones, the price is 6.00 NZD for adults and 3.00 NZD for children from 5 up to 18 years. Children 4 years and younger can travel for free. You can pay with cash or card on board the bus. For discounted fares, use a Snapper card (4.43 NZD / 2.22 NZD). Public transportation in Wellington is operated by Metlink. Please consult the Metlink website for more information.
UBER and DIDI
Both UBER and DIDI operate in Wellington and offer cheap rides into Wellington.
TAXI
The price for a taxi from Wellington Airport to the centre of Wellington is approximately 40 NZD. A taxi ride between the airport and city centre takes 15 minutes.
